It’s cold where I live, so we can’t go out and play as much as we would like-CCY is an asset for my classroom to help my students with gross motor skills, motor planning skills, listening skills, body awareness skills, and mindfulness skills. Jamie does such an amazing job, and my students are so engaged every time. After thinking about it, I decided to purchase the app because we just love CCY so much. In terms of our use of Namaste, our understanding is that the term is used in different ways in different communities. This is a challenge when we have one presenter in Jaime, but one we will continue to try to get right. We try to balance sensitivity, with making films that represent lots of different characters to kids in ways they find engaging. We understand that in some situations using accents is not always appropriate, and over the last few years we have modified how we use accents. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. A lot of people are dropping the use of namaste in yoga class. It also isn’t really meant to go at the end of yoga class. As for namaste, it doesn’t mean thank you. To clarify: accents can be insensitive for obvious reasons. If she looks into this a bit more, stops doing accents and uses namaste in an appropriate way, it’ll be so much more relaxing for me as a parent. The only thing is that I have to supplement it with some conversation: the accents she does and the use of namaste are not culturally appropriate. We really love these and my daughter really does do the yoga.
